In its core Howl is a turn-based tactical folktale set in a world of living ink. The prophecy foretold where and when the next prophet would come into the world, but when twins are born instead, a chain of events causes a sickness called The Howl to spread across the land. You play a deaf hero plunging into danger in search of her brother, using the environment to her advantage and predicting moves across many levels. Rid the lands of the beastly plague using your wits, planning every move up to six steps in advance. Through ‘living ink’ the story gets painted as you play - write your own prophecy in it. The visuals of Howl are created through ‘living ink’, a flowing artstyle that paints the story as you play. Carve your way through a dark fairytale world, fighting and writing to rid the lands of the plague.
